Many countries are going through conflicts and political turmoil, and one amongst them is Ukraine. The country has witnessed significant ups and downs in its political situation in the last couple of decades, and it has affected the country’s population, stability, peace, and financial condition. It is because of this, the major think tank of Ukraine named Center of Policy and Legal Reform joined hands with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance to organise an international workshop in Kiev. Sujit Choudhry said that he is glad to be present among so many respected members of the legal fraternity from around the world, and while sharing his opinion on the situation of governance in Kiev, he said that the primary reason for instability is the weak government. Sujit Choudhry said that the concentration of power in Presidency and partially into the post of Prime Minister is also one of the reasons why the government cannot be streamlined. Other causes he noted for the instability in the political situation of the country is the absence of any strong political parties and the legislation that govern the country’s electoral system. Sujit Choudhry said that these are the factors that collectively have been working for the good of the country, and must be addressed with the help of comparative law. Other noted dignitaries present at the workshop held in Kiev included Viktor Musiaka, Thomas Sidelius, Ihor Koliushko, Vladimir Vasilenko, Sumit Bisarya, and much more.
