Greg Secker partners with Nonito Donaire Jr. to donate more than 100 homes

In a much-needed show of solidarity with the Iloilo typhoon victims, the former champion of world boxing Mr. Nonito Donaire Jr. and English Businessman and philanthropist Mr. Greg Secker joined hands in giving back to society by donating over 100 houses to the victims of the typhoon that rocked several parts of the Philippines. In 2013, Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines leaving a trail of destruction and death in its wake.

In light of this, Mr. Greg Secker moved in quick to look for ways he could help especially the victims of the typhoon. One of his family friend’s home was among the several thousands of homes that were destroyed by the devastating natural calamity. After having helped her rebuild their home, Mr. Secker realized there is much that can be done and thus they secured a site for building even more homes so that they can help as many people as they possibly can. And that is how the ‘build a house, build a home’ initiative begun.

Mr. Donaire Jr. later said that one of his missions in life is to encourage more people from his profession to take some time off their busy schedules and always be on the lookout for noble causes that they can support in society. However, for Mr. Donaire Jr. this is not his first time to help people in society especially when they are in dire need, it should be remembered that in 2009 he gave ₱ 1,000,000 in a deliberate and conscious effort of trying to help rebuild houses for the victims of tropical storm Ondoy and this was just when he was only starting out as a professional boxer.
