He has a great passion for technology especially the Internet of Things, which he believes has am an important role to play in the modern society’s future. Other than IoT, Jason is also deeply interested in anti-aging research.
In 2010, Jason made a $500,000 donation to a non-profit organization based in California, SENS Foundation. The organization does research on rejuvenation biotechnologies as well as finding a solution to age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and Atherosclerosis.
According to Jason, the work at SENS Foundation was important and it’s his belief that the advancement the organization was doing in relation to human medicine was the solution needed to deal with human aging and the related diseases. Such works were going to transform the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries to be much better than we know them today.
SENS Foundation is looking into giving the biotech industry a new face through researches. When making the announcement about the donation, SENS CEO, Mike Kope said that Jason’s contribution, which they were all delighted about was going to enable the foundation to make faster progress in their fight against age-related diseases.
In the current pharmaceutical industry, most medicines being used are doing very little if any, in fighting age-related diseases from occurring. In fact, some of them have been found to react with the matter, something that SENS is looking forward to redefining by understanding prevention of age-related diseases, which is going to give a better, longer life, than just looking into their treatment.
Jason half a million dollar contribution was not the last support to SENS but the beginning. He has since then been a constant donor to the organization and is currently the patron of SENS rejuvenation research. He is also very active in publicizing the foundation and participating in groups outreaches. This particular research is aimed at addressing the aging root cause which is the “cellular and molecular damage”. Jason Hope has already made over a $1 million dollar donation to SENS.
The philanthropist has also been investing in startups, by providing grants to young entrepreneurs to get their business ideas implemented. He mainly supports the most interesting technological ideas which he believes are very important for the future.
